Your main marketing message needs to show your customers that your product or service will meet all their needs. You need to help them to imagine the benefits that purchasing from you will bring them. If you can help your customers to visualize using your product or service, and visualize their purchase improving their lives in some way, then your sale is already made. You must help your visitors to imagine a positive experience if they purchase what you are selling. They do not want to know what color, what size or what specific functions your product may have. Well, they do want to know that but first and foremost, they want to know that your product will make their lives easier.

Another mistake that many online marketers make is ignoring their past customers. Repeat customers are the key to a profitable business, whether online or off. If you spend all your time searching for new customers, then you are neglecting the very people who got you where you are today. Asking for referrals from customers who are happy with your service can be one of the main ways of finding new customers. You could consider developing an incentive program for referrals. For instance, consider offering your loyal customers a 10 percent discount on their next purchase when they refer a friend who also purchases. You can imagine the increased revenue from this one simple act.

Overall, you must keep a positive attitude. If one marketing technique does not work for you, then try another. There are literally thousands of marketing strategies that you can try and just because one does not work to your satisfaction, does not mean that another will not give you the business boost that you have been waiting for. Before you completely eliminate a specific marketing technique however, be sure to give it the once over. See if there is anything that you can do to make that marketing idea work better.
