The “trick” to making email marketing via auto-responders a successful approach is educating and providing value to your customers first. Get them “hooked” and build some trust. Then, gradually, begin to present offers to them but always in a nonchalant manner. This approach is especially powerful if you can provide personal feedback from your usage of the product you are referring to. And don’t just make it all “happy and sunshine” either. If you had some difficulties, then let them know that and they will trust you even more. The bottom line is that if you treat your list with respect, the people who receive emails from you will end up developing a sense of loyalty. Email marketing is, in this way, quite an enigma because it is all about relationship building and you only have words to build that relationship – or do you? Use audio in your emails whenever you can. Use videos in your emails as well from time to time. Provide links to your blog where you have pictures of yourself from time to time and so on. If you involve your customers and open up to them, email marketing can indeed be extremely profitable.
